Do
you say: I HATE SPAM!!!!! @#$@$&# ?
Do
you want to be PRO-Active in reducing the amount of SPAM
your are receiving? Do the following:
-
Make sure you use
an ACTIVE Anti-Virus program.
For Norton and McAfee, that means you have to PAY
the subscription fee Yearly or it is NOT
current/active. AVG has a 2-year subscription
and a FREE version. AVG anti-virus must show
as a black, red, yellow, and green square, if it is
grayed-out, then you need to get the current
updates.
(If you do not have an ACTIVE/CURRENT
anti-virus program, YOU are contributing to the SPAM
in the world.)
-
Download
SPAMfighter at
http://www.spamfighter.com/ There is a
FREE (standard) version and there is a $29.95/year subscription
version (1 PC for 1 Year). This product works
well.
-
Do NOT forward forwards. You ARE a
spammer when you forward emails that are NOT
Specifically requested. By
forwarding-forwards, your email address as well as
others in that list end up in MANY address books -
some with Viruses.
-
Do NOT send or forward Chain letters.
This is SPAM.
-
USE
WaveNet's
WebMail. You can also surf to
www.wave-net.net,
then in the upper left-hand corner click on the
WebMail link. Scan the list, remove checks
from the emails you want to keep, then click Delete,
wait for the screen to refresh showing the ones
marked for deletion in gray with a line through
them, and then click Purge Deleted. You can still use
Outlook Express, Outlook, Thunderbird, etc. to
download the emails you want to keep onto your hard-drive
after using the webmail to delete SPAM first.
If you need
assistance, please call WaveNet at 776-6997 or, outside
Lee County, 1-888-809-7704. When the WaveNet
